How ICam Works

When Microns Count, Only an ICam is Good Enough

Little-known fact: full-arch dentists only have a margin of 100 - 150 microns to achieve passive fit in implant dentistry—that’s about the size of a human hair!

Unfortunately, each stage of the prosthetic process can introduce small errors, which “stack up” and may lead to a poor fit. Some 3D dental imaging systems, for instance, produce errors of 100 microns or more. If you add up the margin of error for each step of the prosthetic process, you can quickly find yourself over 100 microns and at risk of complications.

This is why it’s critical to start with the most accurate records possible. The goal is to reduce marginal gaps to ensure a passive fit that minimizes stress and increases the likelihood of long-term success.

Say hello to the world’s most accurate and best-selling photogrammetry. ICam photogrammetry quickly and easily captures highly precise, three-dimensional representations of dental implant positions. It stitches together a series of two-dimensional images to digitally map the precise positioning and angulation of implants.

ICam Photogrammetry:
easy as 1-2-3

  1. Simply connect the ICamBodies scanbodies to the dental implants. Note that ICam photogrammetry is the only system with individually calibrated titanium scanbodies that can be X-rayed.

  2. Quickly calibrate the ICam and position it over the ICamBodies to easily capture multiple images of the abutments from different angles.

  3. The system’s software then processes the images, using mathematical algorithms to create a 3D digital representation of the implant positions. ICam photogrammetry runs 60,800 calculations, while other digital implant impressions systems only run between 150 – 260 calculations.

Combine both the ICam photogrammetry implant data with your IOS soft tissue data in your CAD dental design software (like Exocad or 3Shape) and design the final full-arch dental restorations. This fast, non-contact method ensures unmatched accuracy without the invasiveness of traditional impression techniques.

With four moving cameras, ICam photogrammetry is the industry’s only true photogrammetry system and the only technology that guarantees passivity, no matter the operator or case complexity. Finally, a predictable technology that provides peace of mind while significantly boosting profitability, reducing chair time, and improving the patient experience.

“ICam Photogrammetry has become a game-changer for full-arch restorations, one of the most complex areas of implant dentistry.”
